These pages provide a photographic
record of activities and events at Thrupp Lake throughout
2011 where development of a new visitor centre and improved
public access to the lake surroundings are being planned
by the Earth Trust in collaboration with the local community.
Up in
the canopy. A tree surgeon at work making dead trees
safe near the path along the northern shore. Felled
timber has been left on the site to provide habitats
for wildlife.

A small team turned up to finish the task begun earlier
in the month.
Erecting

Above: First two
deep holes had to be dug to exactly the right depth. Fortunately
the team came equipped with the right tools for the job.

Then the tricky task of lifting and lowering the very
heavy wooden structure into the holes without damaging
anything, anybody or pushing earth back into the holes.

Finally some levelling adjustments before fixing temporary
stays ready for concrete pouring.

Final inspection and finishing touches to the path around
the lake: just a few clips here and there to keep the
flourishing brambles in check.
